Default District 3 call signs

Are we (District 3) the district with the least amount of hams? Just happened to notice that the FCC is giving out KB3Zxx call signs, which means we'll be into KC3xxx soon. I think we're the last ones still in the KB range.

Sorry just a random observation/post.

District 3 is probably the smallest area so I would think that it would have the least number of call sign issued. Not really a biggy, is it?

I like this chart on AE7Q's web site:

AE7Q's Amateur Radio Database Query Tools

Looks like 3-land is just ahead of 1-land in the race to issue all its "KBnaaa" callsigns.

Maybe if everybody in Delaware became a ham, the 3rd district might be more like one of the larger ones. There just isn't that much population to draw from.

On the other hand, if you are interested in a vanity callsign you will have more selection in the 3rd callsign region than most others.

I had no competition for my vanity call, K3NPO, it had never been used! Which is awesome because it's exactly what I wanted even though I've never lived in D3
