Default Any way to determine what these antennas are?

I was given two low profile antennas with the nmo mounts from from a salvage. They look similar to the maxrad low profile mounts (black/chrome) and the only markings they have are on the underside with the numbers 760 and 266. Any way to determine what frequency range these are for?

I'll try and post some this evening. If you just google maxrad low profile they look exactly like that except they don't have a brand name on them. black plastic on top, chrome on bottom.

Quite a few folks are making antennas like that anymore. Looking at the pix, I'm going to say that's a UHF antenna. Guess you need to throw it on a mount, and start checking the match on the different bands. Since it appears to me that it has a spring loaded center, it may be made by Motorola.

Yes It is a spring loaded center. The NMO mounts that came with it also have the mini-uhf connectors like on the back of my GM300's so they very well maybe be big M antennas.

Looks pretty high band... Probably for MDT or possibly even GPS. A UHF Mini would be likely for that as well.

I'm guessing either UHF or 800MHz band. Do you know who was using them before they were removed from service? Their radios would tell you what band the antennas are for.

Unfortunately no.

I've seen something like that mounted on the front fender of a local sheriff's officers Ford F-250. I think he is one of their detectives or something like that. When I see it, it is parked out front of the cop shop and he is inside doing business.

I never carry a camera with me or else I'd photograph it and post it. Not brave enough to go up and try to take a pic thru his tinted windows to see what he has inside connected to it!

They could be UHF, they could be 800. But 5.2 gig? The antenna is over a 1/4 high at 5.2, you don't need the width. Unless you can come up with a catalog page or something, I'm going to be doubtful that antenna is that high.
