Improving reception on a BCD996T

Is there an indoor or attic antenna out there which will help my reception.The current antenna does fine with everything but trunked systems.I am 50 miles from the nearest system.Am I being realistic trying to pickup a trunked system at that distance.

That's something of a stretch - you didn't say anything about terrain, but in a flat environment, even at VHF freqs, you're asking a lot of an indoor antenna. On 800 forget it - again, depending on terrain, the best you might hope for is 25 miles or so. Not much more than that, I would think.

You could do better with a Yagi pointed in the desired direction, but by how much would be hard to judge. 73 Mike
