Lightbulb Antenna weather seal.

Hi everyone.

I need to get some more of that Seal-Right type stuff that comes on a small roll to seal out rain water for my coax connectors. I called my local Radio Shack and they don't sell it anymore. I'm gonna call around some of the Radio Shacks in Omaha to see if they might have any. And if not. Then what do I do? This is good stuff. It really works. Thanks.

You can use Permatex Ultra Black RTV from an auto store to coat the outside. Just make sure it's the Ultra Black which is non corrosive. Then wrap with tape from the bottom up after it's dry. And don't get it on the inside of the connector.

Default Weatherproofing connectors

Here's what I do. First I apply a good coat of 3M Super 88 electrical tape, overlapping real good. Then a good overlap of 3M 2155 rubber splicing tape. Stretch out the rubber tape real good as you apply it, covering the first layer of Super 88 completely. Now put another good overlapping layer of Super 88 over the 2155, and cover the rubber tape completely. That's it.

Is this the stuff you are thinking of?

3M™ Scotchfil™ Electrical Insulation Putty Tape

I get mine from the big box hardware stores.

Well the good news here,is that it's still available because I recently got some from a company which does commercial maint.so it's not made by radio shak, bad news is I'm not sure who makes it but I can find out if you like?

I bought a roll of Coax-Seal at AES in Milwaukee a few weeks ago.

The package refers to Coax-Seal protects connectors from moisture and corrosion
