Default Antennas from Russell Industries

We have used Russell products for over 25 years for our various portables. The quality is better than most - especially with their line of duckies... very reliable and heavy duty at a price which is a bit less than other commercial suppliers. Any other Russell users here in the forum?

Took a look at their catalog. Honestly, it looks like something that a six year old could've thrown together. No specs at all, and the pictures are just horrible.

I just hope that their catalog doesn't speak for the quality of their antennas.

I've never heard of them either.

I've used quite a few of their products when replacing broken antennas on portable radios, walkie talkies, cordless phones and such over the years. I've also got several different `rubber ducky' antennas I've collected over most of those same years that I still use occasionally with some of my HH scanners. All in all their antennas are basically the same as just about everyone elses and some of them may actually come from the same plant as some of the other manufacturers products.

For those who are complaining about `picture quality' the `problem' is that their only mistake is that they are trying to use the same picture that they have for their `thumbnail'. It may just be something as simple as there being a broken link to a larger format picture since the actual catalog I have, even though it is a couple years old now, has great pictures of the individual antennas in it. I had a similar problem with some pictures on our web site a while back after the server farm that does our hosting went and changed machines as part of an upgrade they did. It took us a bit of `dectective work' to find just where the pictures had gone to but we were able to restore things fairly quickly after locating the pictures. Pick up the .PDF of their antennas and you'll find that things are a tad bit better.

Some of you people who like to build `projects' should find them to be a fairly interesting and decent source of various `bits-n-pieces' that can be otherwise hard to find.
