Hope I did this right -- 1st time posting an attachment......

Here's the setup I installed last summer. The top antenna is a Wilson 301111, 800 MHZ 8-element yagi fed with LMR-400 Ultra-Flex. Actually a cell phone antenna, works great! The lower antenna is an Antenex YS1503, 150MHZ 3-element yagi fed with RG-6 Quad-Shield. These are mounted on a 30 foot tower with a Channel Master rotor (with hand held remote control !). Top antenna is about 38' above ground level.

The top antenna is a VHF-LP from DPD Production. The antenna below that is the Wilson 800MHZ beam and the Diamond Discone is off to the side. More info on the mast is in the wiki http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Tilt-Over_Mast

RS Discone on 5' sections of mast, stuck in a patio umbrella stand.

5' is OK for any wind, 2 x 5' works for light winds, and if there's no wind, I can use 3 x 5' sections of mast.

At some point I'll move to a permanent installation on the chimney.

I was a little hesitant to post this because the guy with the Discone next to the pool definitely has me beat. This is an old pic and there’s a lot more crap on the roof now. Some antennas are not really visible like a DB Products 4-bay dipole array pointing out from the tower facing the viewer and an SCG autotuner feeding 100ft of wire off to the right, and the active VLF/HF antenna on the very top. The ground plane at the far right is a military broad band 30-90MHz unit, works nice for VHF lo-band skip. Both log periodics are from KMA antennas, I really love those guys. The big horizontal one fell off the roof during the install and it just bounced. Try that with another brand!

No no, the Discone at the pool is way better. I would put my lounge chair right under it while reading all my scanner magazines in the nice Florida sun. I might just have to get an umbrella mount and see if the wifee will allow a Discone inside the house.

I guess it's safe to say you don't have a home owners association.

That's a great looking setup but what do you need a chimney for in Daytona other than to mount antennas?

When it finally turns cold up north here we are all coming to your house.

Big Deal

OK, here's mine. The scanner antenna is an Antenna Specialists MON-37 (I think) that I've had for 10 years. It was put up here, its third home, a few months ago. I took it apart and cleaned it up a bit, it is still in good shape. It is fed with LMR400 through an Andrew Corp gas tube protector in a box at ground level.

The wire is the end of a PAR EF-SWL hung and fed from a tree by the back fence. It worked very well but I recently replaced it with an off-center fed 40meter dipole so I could have a transmit antenna. I hope to put the PAR back up some kind of way, maybe over the roof to the front yard.

The small yagi is for UHF TV, all of the transmitters are on a mountain top 3-1/2 miles away. Signals were so strong there was terrible ghosting from reflections off the buildings nearby in the opposite direction so I got this yagi with high f-b ratio and NO pre-amp and it works great. Channels 16 to 41 used locally, no VHF. The UHF only antenna and a filter keeps the nearby (1/2 mi) paging transmitter out of the TV.

Just out of frame to the right is my Tiki Bar, and yes I have setup the scanner there, and monitored while consuming cooling beverages there.

I also lust for prcguy's setup, but I'm not sure how well it would stand up to the windy weather we sometimes get here at the beach. :)
