Mine is not nearby but I don't remember any indication of 25 vs analog. When your in the mode that can decode P25 it will also pass analog and the audio is a little tinny sounding compared to the analog only mode.

Mine is a Govt version and I enable the descrambler to turn on P25, which I think has a V in the corner of the display but also a number from 0 to 255 for the descrambler subcarrier.

I'm getting an unblocked ,unused MKIII next week and I'm debating whether or not the upgrade is worth it. Any more comments from those that did. Do you feel it was worth $300.

Default Wait for 8200III?

I love the 8200 MK3 but now another $300? If you bought it new now you're talking $1000. Jeez, pay $150 and buy a Uniden 396xt. AND I want to hear from someone who did the upgrade and how P25 sounds and how you set it up.

I have the upgrade and it sounds a little better than my PRO96 in P25 mode. What do you mean by how it's set up?

prcguy- Are you able just to decode p25? Can you listen to a p25 trunking system? Big difference that MK3 owners need to know. Real BIG difference.

That's what I figured. What's the point? P25 repeaters? They run mixed mode usually anyway.
