The bad news is after 12 years the AR5000 line will be discontinued. I have a AR5000 and noticed I could not easily get MESFET devices to repair the front end. AOR still had them in stock.

Dear customers,
It is with regret that we have to announce the discontinuation of our
AR5000A receiver (all versions), after being one of our best-sellers for
about 12 years.
Despite of some parts being not available anymore, we were planning to
continue with the g+3h version only, until the release of a new version
(still under development).
But very recently another couple of crucial parts have become
unavailable for various reasons (parts manufacturers going out of
business, parts discontinued because of too old, etcc) and now we are
simply unable to produce this receiver anymore.
There will be a certain period of time until the follower of AR5000A is
ready, and we apologize for not being able to offer an exactly similar
receiver during the waiting time.
