Do you believe your question is so important that those 17 people were required to answer within your less than 2 hour time limit? Do you think you might have gotten answers if you had described the condition of the radio and maybe included a picture of the unit? Without at least knowing the condition of the unit, the only reasonable answer is MAYBE.

Edit: Why would you be asking this question when you have an 8000 for sale for an asking price of $200 in the For Sale section?

YES!!!! The AOR 8000 is an excellent wideband radio, I've had one as well as the 8200.
$70 is a STEAL!

I'd be very suspicious. New, as I recall, these radios cost around 300 or 400, so a price that low on a used - and probably no longer supported by AOR - handheld is questionable at best.

If it's in good working order, and you have a lot of non-trunking freqs around you, then maybe

Be careful, check the quality of the screen. I have one and the screen over the years has faded significantly. Mine is real hard to read now. But, having said that, although I seldom use the unit anymore, it served me well for many years although it was real susceptable to intermod interference on the road. I mainly used it in conjunction with a Scout Model 40 for reaction tuning of frequency hits.

Post Ar8000

There is no shame and getting a bargain for something and try to profit from it.

That is how the world works.

yes I bought for 70.00 and yes I am trying to sell it because I don't understand how to use it.

150.00 price

if you look you can see the screen looks real good and is easy to see

You need to study up on capitalism and marketing. Don't post a buyers remorse message asking if $70 is too much to pay and then post the same item for sale at $200 (now $150). Nothing wrong with trying to make a profit but we all know how much you paid for it now. I suspect your best offer is going to be something like $75. Live and learn.

Default Aor Ar8000 Wideband Receiver

I will not hurt myself if someone wants it they will pay the 150.00 as they are really hard to find.

I was trying to avoid the mistake I did buy asking that question

You need to back off if you dont want to buy it fine

if someone wants it i will work with them

good luck finding it for 70 it called supply and demand

someone wants it and they cant be found even if you paid little they will buy it at a higher rate

Default You need to buy ASAP

Th AR8000 is an awesome scanner, but it will take some getting used to. I could hook up an HF antenna and it could pick as well as my high end HF transceiver. I bought an 8000 at a hamfest recently and couldn't believe what it could do. The best thing was I sold it for $300 in less than 2 days on eBay. You can easily flip that scanner into some cash.

Yes, there's nothing wrong with making a profit, but it's hard to do that when you announce to your potential customers you're applying a 100-200% markup to the price.

You need to check your tone a little bit, because personally, if I had bought that from you and then read this thread, I would feel extremely ripped off. Not telling the buyer what you originally paid for it doesn't make it better, but it sure doesn't angry up the blood.

Edit: I see you're now listing it for 100 + 10 for shipping. Thats more reasonable, especially once the cat was out the bag.

I am sorry did not mean to offend anyone

I am simply trying to correct a mistake for buying it.

I dont understand the way it works and I need instant gratification.

I am not trying to rip off just want to sell it and make a little extra to buy another scanner possibly in this forum as well

Once again sory
