Well I'm a beta tester. Purchased the mini from HRO.

Audio and sensitivity are top notch as to be expected from AOR.

I was a little suprised at the "Fischer Price" feel of the radio (Plastic).

I wish I had more to report at this time but I had to box it up and send it back to HRO.

Looks like I received a dud. Numerous lockups requiring poweroffs during scanning and the scanner was having trouble with DCS and TSQ while scanning memory channels (carrier w/no audio). No problem in VFO or stopped on a memory channel.

I have not given up yet, HRO is sending a new one, I will report after I receive that one.

Still no replacement after 15 days. I canceled my order. I'm out $15.00 return shipping fees. Thumbs down to AOR and Ham radio outlet. So long AOR, my money will go to Uniden or GRE now.

I enjoyed your previous reviews. Hope you have better luck than I did. It all worked out in the end. After returning my Mini, I purchased a 8200MKIII off of E-bay and got a great deal on it. Mini with programming cable (new) $360. 8200MKII with programming cable (used) on e-bay $400.
