The Department of Public Safety Ranger Flight Paramedic who was killed in Sedona Monday by a helicopter rotor blade has been identified as 36-year-old Bruce Harrolle of Mesa.
Harrolle was reportedly attempting to escort two stranded hikers near Bear Mountain to a helicopter at about 4 p.m., according to DPS.
One of the hikers entered the chopper safely.
Harrolle was attempting to assist the second hiker towards the helicopter, he was struck by a rotor blade and killed.
The second hiker was not hurt.
Harrolle leaves behind a wife and two children, according to DPS.
Few other details were made available Monday night.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office plans to release more information Tuesday.
