Dunno what time yet. Happened near Sedona. Medic on DPS Ranger Helo was hit by the rotor. Still waiting to get ahold of a buddy of mine on air rescue.

Default about 4pm

The Department of Public Safety Ranger Flight Paramedic who was killed in Sedona Monday by a helicopter rotor blade has been identified as 36-year-old Bruce Harrolle of Mesa.

Harrolle was reportedly attempting to escort two stranded hikers near Bear Mountain to a helicopter at about 4 p.m., according to DPS.

One of the hikers entered the chopper safely.

Harrolle was attempting to assist the second hiker towards the helicopter, he was struck by a rotor blade and killed.

The second hiker was not hurt.

Harrolle leaves behind a wife and two children, according to DPS.

Few other details were made available Monday night.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office plans to release more information Tuesday.
