I was just wondering the same thing. I wonder if they went back to the RWC system? I know they were on it temporarily when the White Tanks County system was down due to a fire.

Ok I think I've found them over on RWC talkgroup 4301. I think El Mirage (4330) has moved over as well.
This is a bad deal for me my BCD996T does not decode RWC at my house very well at all. These talkgroup Id's are not very well confirmed at this point due to my poor decode.

I will try my 996XT on the Yagi tonight and see what I can come up with. I have a terrible time from where I am at with a 600 and the 996T on RWC, but it will give me a reason to give it a shot and keep me busy for the evening.

I received a submission to update the database that they are on the RWC on 4301 and 4330. I've updated appropriately.

Also, in the submission, it was noted that El Mirage is not on the Maricopa TRS anymore. Any know where they may have migrated to?

Thanks,

The last day I have Surprise logged is 7-28-09, same with El Mirage. I'll go back through my archives and see if I can locate any info.

If I remember correctly El Mirage is dispatched by Surprise on a separate TG than Surprise, so I will assume they will be following SPD to the RWC.

I know this subject had been beat to death but I havent been paying much attention. Ok now that Surprise PD has moved to RWC I have to find a scanner that works well on RWC. Currently I have the BCD996T which does not work well at all on RWC at my house. I was at HRO today and played around with both of the GRE digital scanners and was shocked at the difference in audio quality on RWC no drop outs just nice clear audio almost as good as FM. Whats everyone elses experience with this?

I'm using a PRO-106 for my feed, I live in Mesa Brown and Lindsay area. It took some moving the antenna to the right place but the audio is almost always perfect on Simulcast C.

The last traffic I have from SUPD was at 5:18 in the morning on 7-28-09, they were asking dispatch how radio's were sounding. Since then I have logged new talkgroups, 1795,2388 and 3041. I think 1795 is a radio tech talkgroup not sure about the rest.

It means I am going to connect my Uniden 996XT to an antenna similar to this Yagi antenna - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edit: Clarification, I am about 30-50 miles from most of the trunked systems here but my house is in the prime location to where I can see alot of Phoenix (I can on a clear night see the landing lights on the Airliners landing at Sky Harbor). A yagi is a highly directional antenna and I use it to pickup the distant systems in the Phoenix Metro area. I can pickup the MCSO White Tanks system from my house without the yagi, but need it to pickup the MCSO Thompson Peak System. The RWC is a tough one, but if I place it just right I can pickup Simulcast A, but with major breakups in the transmissions.

Hello,

Has anyone confirmed the usage on these two TG's. Is it just Surprise?

Thanks,

Confirmed. That's why I submitted them. : )

Also hearing Surprise related traffic on TG 4306, . . but it sounds more public works related.

I'm still not hearing anything for El Mirage.

Thanks Dave,
Just trying to clarify it was only Suprise PD or if El Mirage had gone with them.

Go ahead and submit the PW TG and I'll add it.

Thanks again,

John,

A friend with El Mirage PD was told by their communications dept that TG 4330 is now an El Mirage PD channel.

When I did hear traffic on this TG, it only pertained to Surprise addresses and clearly sounded as if it was being used as an info channel. Last night I didn't hear anything, so I'm skeptical of whom it actually belongs to at this point (despite the credible sources) because I used to hear a lot more traffic on El Mirage's old channel than I hear on this TG. I'll keep you posted.

John,

Confirmed. El Mirage PD is now using RWC talkgroup 4330. I submitted the description change this morning.

Default Surprise PD Gone Again?

I have been listening for Surprise PD on Phoenix Regional Wireless and have not heard them these past few days. Have they moved again?

I was wondering the same thing, but I've lost most of Phoenix too for some reason. I can only receive what is coming in on White Tanks. Odd.
