Not sure why you've lost Phx? Glendale is on a separate system by the way, although patches between the two systems are possible.

Very frustrating. I've updated everything, redownloaded all the groups and frequencies, but Phx just cut out. So Glendale is separate, I thought they were part of Phx. Thanks, I get Surprise and Peoria, and that's it. I'm going through withdrawal, this is not good! I have a Uniden 396T and it's always rec'd very well. Hmm.

If you are receving Glendale, Peoria and Surprise, your radio is seeing control channels and functioning normally.
  1. Is the PRWN system locked out? Are your groups locked out? Are your TGs locked out? Go to SEARCH on the system and listen for traffic like public works or transit.
  2. If you are not hearing anything, verify that you have the correct CC freqs for the system in the scanner. (Occasionally I will update using FreeScan or BCTools and some channels will disappear from the system.)
Failing that, go to another location and see if the issue is there as well.
  • If you hear them from another location you may need another antenna setup and/or move your radio to another part of the house.
  • If not it may be that PRWN is experiencing issues, or your radio is.

Thank you, John . I checked everything again, nothing is locked out, I verified the frequencies again, tried different areas in the house. I guess I will just wait to see if it comes back up in the next few days. Just odd since I did not make any changes to the settings, then three nights ago I started thinking, wow, Phoenix sure is quiet! But surely there is crime going on...lol! This just bugs me though. Thank you. I need to get an antenna for the roof or something.

I see they added a new talkgroup 2812 A01, I added that, but still nothing. Someone who lives in Glendale, are you receiving on Simulcast E West Valley?

Just to clarify - are you receiving the control channel and not hearing transmissions even in the search (not scan) mode, or just flat not receivng the control channel at all?

Can you take the radio outside, up the block, etc. Any difference?

The 396 can desense if it is close to another RF source. Any new cell towers/antennas nearby? New wireless router? Any odd or unsual intermods or images on any conventional channels that might indicate strong transmitters nearby?

I am receiving the control channel but not hearing transmissions, that is correct. The signal appears to be strong. Walked around the yard, nothing changed. I will take it to work tomorrow which is in Phoenix and see if it picks up anything. I can sure get everything else, ElMirage, Surprise, Peoria, all under Simulcast E West Valley, everything but Phoenix.

I'm not receiving on A either at my house, but I took it to work with me today and no problem, I was getting everything so that rules out the scanner. Something in my neighborhood must have changed in the past few days that I can't receive transmissions. But at least that narrows it down to NOT the scanner.
