Default No Radio Traffic on RWC Simulcast E

Hi Everyone,

There are a lot of changes occurring right now with the RWC. Simulcast E still has an active control channel, but overall Simulcast E does not appear to be not in use. I monitor the RWC with Unitrunker, and none of the sites are showing Simulcast E as an active neighbor, and there are no affiliations happening on Simulcast E. I am guessing the techs are preparing for the merger of Simulcast E with Simulcast G. The White Tanks IR has been is covering while Simulcast E is offline.

I have not heard 4301 (Surprise PD) and 4330 (El Mirage PD) lately. However, there are some encrypted talkgroups that are active on the system - 4302, 4305, 4306, and 4307 with Surprise radio IDs and 4331 with El Mirage Radio IDs. It seems that most of the radio traffic for Surprise and El Mirage is now occurring on the encrypted channels.

Regards,

Joe

Thank you for posting this information. I had been listening to Surprise, El Mirage, and Peoria on my quick key 22, which was preprogrammed. I also listened to Phoenix on that key. I saved the C deck talk groups and the talk groups for the other cities in the West Valley. First I lost Peoria, then Surprise and El Mirage. Then, I lost the ability to monitor Phoenix. About the only thing left is Goodyear, and some activity from the fire department. I don't really understand what was programmed from the factory, but it seems as though it had Phoenix, including the main channel of the fire department and obviously some from MCSO. I do have Phoenix on Simulcast A, but my reception had never been great, it had more bars on the original programming from Uniden (BCD396T). I purchased this scanner when they first came out. I have taken it in several times for a tune-up. I read everything, hoping to determine an opportune time to take it back in. Now, I can see I should wait until the situation stabilizes. By the way, I have heard Talk Group 4304 on my Scottsdale set-up this week, more than once. I believe that is MCSO and probably some leftover.

Thanks

I was talking to a Phx officer today and he said that they were all given new radios about 6 weeks ago and that a lot of channels have changed. I lost Surprise and ElMirage but still get Peoria. Sunrise, same problem here with Simulcast A. Lost it about a month ago and just get intermittent now. Where do you take it for a tune up?

Unhappy Any Update on Surprise and El Mirage PD?

Has anyone heard yet if the changes to the Surprise and El Mirage PD Talkgroups will be permanent?

I still receive Peoria as I always have, but nothing for Surprise and El Mirage except for activity on the encrypted talkgroups that was mentioned by "cellphone".

I hope those cities are not going to use encryption 100% of the time..

Just received word today that this is only temporary and they should be back on (unencrypted) sometime within the next several weeks.
