Mesa FD Fireground, Ch2 DEAD?

Does anyone know what happened to Mesa Fire Depts Channel 2 simulcast?
It used to be simulcast (I think) on 154.235 and was used for fireground communications.
I'm pretty sure they transmit on 800Mhz freqs and used to simulcast on the old VHF freqs also.
But in the last month or so, I hear no broadcasts from any units on scene.

Also a complete list of Mesa FD's 800 freqs would be great.

Check the database here for the "Topaz Regional Wireless Cooperative" or "Topaz RWC".
Mesa: 867.7500, 867.825, 868.275, 868.3500
Thompson Peak: 867.225, 867.375, 867.725, 868.3625
White Tanks: 774.64375

They also have a 2nd, seperate "Mobile Command System".
769.14375, 769.64375, 770.14375, 770.64375, 774.10625, 774.60625
You'll probably want to program that in as a seperate system in a seperate scan list.

Not sure why it is dead.

There is nothing there now on VHF. I believe that most of those frequencies were part of the FCC givebacks, and as such have probably been dismantled. I am working on getting an 800 mhz version up and running as soon as possible. I am fighting severe Simulcast Digital Distortion, and am trying to attenuate as much as possible. As soon as I can get it fine tuned, it will be up and dedicated to Ch 2. I am streaming Ch. 1 in the mean time.

154.340 ch 1 is still active. I can just hear it, with lots of static, over here in Peoria on my PSR-500 with a Diamond RH-77CA whip. I don't hear 154.235 ch 2, 153.950 ch 3, or any of the other old VHF channels.

Ch1 154.340 and Ch3 153.950 are both still active. I hear the both daily here in Chandler. I could have sworn I heard Ch2 154.235 active the other day on a fire call in Apache Junction, but I have not heard it on ony calls in Mesa or Gilbert in some time now.

I'm guessing that the Ch2 VHF repeater may have failed and they chose not to repair it.

Check to see if the CTCSS has been changed to a DCS. According to a thread from 2 months ago, several CTCSS tones were supposed to have been changed to DCS codes in June. Mesa ch 2 was one of them.

Nope, the scanner I use for Mesa has no CTCSS or DCS ability so that kills that idea.And we would likely still be hearing dispatch if it was simplex, much like the Phoenix channels are.
