Post New user for the Home Patrol

I have had my Home Patrol for about 3 weeks now and when I purchased it I got it OPTIMIZED from the company I bought it from. They did the initial setup for me. I first was able to hear Mesa, AZ police and all other channels but only 'snipits'and then it would scan away from the channel. Now I don't get any police channels and I get EMS channels, I get the full scanned message. Please help. Thanks.

Hello Heidi,

Perhaps you turned off the police service types, if you aren't getting anything now.

Try this:
1. Select Menu
2. Choose "Select Service Types" from the menu
3. On the lower right, there is a down arrow, select that option to screen two. The bottom two no the right are "Law Dispatch" and "Law Tac", select those two.
4. Select the down arrow again to ge to the next page. Select the "Law Talk" option at the top left.

Hope this helps,

Sounds like you are scanning a lot of channels or services and when the radio is done receiving a transmission the radio is going into the scan mode and searching hundreds of channels before it gets back to the conversation you were monitoring. If you pause on one channel or talk group ID do you get all of the transmissions?

Default Home Patrol1 - new user, Mesa PD

Thanks for your reply. When I initially got the HP it scanned Mesa PD (I live in Mesa) but didn't complete the transmission. The correct service types are on. Now I don't get Mesa PD and I sent the scanner to Uniden, they said it could be a defective scanner. They sent it back saying it meets Unidens specifications and I don't get Mesa PD at all now - but I get it on RadioReference. I am confused.

Heidi,

Sounds like you need someone in the Mesa area that can look at your radio.

Anyone ?

I'd love to look at it, but I'm too far away ... Pima/Cochise County area.
