TG 4141
Using the wildcard on the Glendale system, I occasionally get a hit on TG 4141. I don't see this TG associated with Glendale, but it is listed as a Peoria PD TG. I don't get any other Peoria TGs, so this seems strange to me. Maybe Glendale does a simulcast on their system? Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks, Bob

it's not the Glendale system. It's Simulcast G of the Regional Wireless Cooperative, and carries Glendale PD and city, Peoria PD and city, El Mirage PD, Surprise PD, Avondale PD, Buckeye PD, Phoenix (et al) FD, and even some Phoenix PD and city talkgroups

On one hand that makes perfect sense. On the other hand I have a wild card in there and it seems like I should be getting more Peoria, Surprise, El Mirage, etc. Talk Groups.

There aren't too many clear TG's that are used. Surprise PD has 7 TG's, 5 of which are encrypted. El Mirage has 3 TG's, 2 are encrypted. Peoria has 3 decks of 16 channels, and most are encrypted. 4141, 4138, 4136 are the 3 clear and most likely active.

Avondale and Buckeye PD have 2 clear TG's each that I'm aware of. Glendale has 7 clear TG's out of 16 known, and only 2-3 are regularly used.

So there's a lot of TG's available, but most are encrypted, and many that are in the clear are lightly used, so you're not going to see a lot of active, monitorable TG's.

I see part of my problem, I (accidentally?) locked out my wildcard on Phoenix G (I erroneously call Glendale). No wonder I'm not getting any other Peoria etc. calls! Duh! I have a lot of Glendale TGs locked out, but I haven't kept too many good notes. I know I LO'ed the Dial-a-Rides, they were driving me crazy. I have about half the PD TGs locked out, I'm assuming because they were encrypted.
Thanks for all your helpful information.
I have another question, but I think I'll start a new thread before the mod yells at me. :-)

4691: Utilities
Those are all the clear TG's for GPD and the city that I'm aware of. (Some have claimed 4729: Events 12 is encrypted, but the one time I heard it used, for a concert, it was clear.)

I didn't have Utilities, not sure why not. I'll add them, I can always lock them out later if they're a nuisance.
I have 7 more PD TGs, (2-3 & 5-9) but I think they're all encrypted. I had 1 hit on Events 12 and I don't have it locked out, so I assume it's not encrypted, but not confirmed.
I unlocked my Phoenix G Wildcard and quickly scored another 12 hits. I did capture Surprise, El Mirage, and Avondale PD, but also dupes of Phoenix PD that I don't need or want. Guess I'll lock it back out again!
