Engine 1340, Phoenix Regional FAC

Early Thursday or Friday morning, I heard Engine 1340 dispatched to a medical call. They were assigned to K-6, so I know it was a Phoenix system apparatus.
Would 1340 be an adaptive response engine for the Sun City Fire District, or ?

That is a strange number, but my assumption would be yes, probably Sun City. I think most of us think in the hundreds ie: Sun City is one-hundred thirty-one to one-hundred thirty-nine. Although they're pronounced like 131 - 139, 13-1 to 13-9 is actually more correct. The next number in lie is supposed to be 1310 (13-10). Why 40 and not 10? Probably like you said - adaptive as opposed to incremental next in line.

Mystery Solved, E1340 just dispatched to an address in Sun City

Engine 1340 is a Sun City Company housed at Sun City Station 1 on 99th Ave just north od Bell Rd. It's a part time company in service during "peak" hours. My guess is they are using 1340 to limit confusion as Sun City only has 3 stations. Station 1 (N 99th Ave N of Ball Rd) - E131, LT131, L131, BC131. Station 2 (N 99th Ave between Peoria Abe & Grand Ave) - E132 & several reserve engines. Station 3 (N 111th Ave just south of Grand Ave) - E133. Station 3 is a single bay older station. My understanding is a new station is in the works across the street (Youngtown side) on a lot which is now occupied by a restaurant building that have been empty for years.

Engine 1340 40 stands for being a 40 hour Engine co.
just like Chandler's E2840 out of 288's quarters, Also Gilbert E2540 is out of 253's Quarters
usually Monday-Thursday 7am to 5pm
