It appears this morning that KEC94, the 162.55 MHz NWS station at South Mountain is off the air. I can hear 162.425 out of Mt. Ord but nothing on 162.55.

And 3 minutes later it is back on the air...

Turns out it was a planned outage.

That would be bad not to have KEC94 on the air during monsoon season. I know there are many
alternatives to get watches and warnings.

Even though the 162.55 signal was down, you could always try the studio to transmitter link.
It's tough to pull in since it's a narrow beam up to south mountain, but it's fun to try.
Also, try these other studio to transmitter links, just for s**ts and giggles.

Phoenix to South Mountain 415.900
Phoenix to Yuma 410.575
Phoenix to Globe 413.900

I can get all three when I'm in Tempe, but at my home in west Phoenix, no such luck.
Happy Hunting!

Well, I live out north of the White Tanks and no joy on any of these for me...

I did find out that listening to Wickenburg PD on 155.61 gives me a fair warning about storms (rain and dust).
