Fiberoptic Line Cut

A fiberoptic line owned by Centurytel phone services, located to the south of Russellville, AR, was accidentally cut some time this evening, severing 911 services to numerous counties in western Arkansas.

Franklin, Johnson, Polk and Logan Co dispatchers lost their long distance, incoming 911 and outgoing teletex lines around 7-8pm and have been told it should be repaired and back in service hopefully before dawn.

At the present, 911 services have been rerouted to the Arkansas State Police District H dispatchers who are able to communicate with the effected counties.
