Manhunt on for escapee in Jackson County
NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) - Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Newport Police, Arkansas State Police, and Crawford County Sheriff's Department is looking for an inmate who escaped from police custody.
According to Dina Tyler with the Arkansas Department of Correction some inmates were being transported back to the McPherson Unit in Newport after appearing in court by Crawford County.
Tyler says the van then made its way to Crawford County, but when they arrived they noticed they were one inmate short. Police are searching for William F. McCoy.
