Default Stationary Or Roam

I need an opinion and some advice, Can anyone tell me what the best way to set the AWIN system up is. Do I need to set it to ROAM or Stationary, I've been using Stationary and checking the Check all CC's on every pass box. If I set it to roam will it work better? If so what are the Threshold HI and LO settings? What does everyone use? What's the best one? Any Recommendations? Anyone?

Thanks!

I've never used the stationary setting because I'm travelling through when I monitor AWIN so roam is what I utilize and it works great.

If I monitored from pretty much the same location all the time I would probably experiment with stationary and wouldn't see much use in using roam under that condition, unless maybe you were within equal distance of more than one tower site.

I used the default threshold settings in roam and they worked fine. I had continuous coverage from Texarkana to Memphis. I expected I might have to tweak that, particularly in the SW part of the state where there are more elevation changes but that was not the case.

Post Awin

I live in Marion County under Troop I area and from the moment I got my PSR-500, have put it in Roam with the default settings. Adding all the CC'a and AC's associted with Troop I. Haven't had a problem at all picking up Troopers, Highway Police, the occassional other Troop's when they are within Troop I repeaters, like Troop J and and L. I also recieve ADEM Staewide traffic and ADEM NW. I have heard traffic from AFC and AG&F, plus ADOC Prisoner Transports. During the Ice Storm this year I heard ANG in this area and in Eastern AR. I have also heard ATBC, DOT, AR Health, DEA ERAD Common ( may also be associated with 14th judicial Drug Task Force ). Also MAC Calls and MAC assigned channels. About the only thing I am not hearing is like Troop CID. I am assuming it's because of encryption or when they are on the CID channel it is more of a direct channel than a repeater channel.
