Cool UHF AM Activity in NW Ark

I have been listening to air refueling acitivity on a track that goes right over Northwest Arkansas.

Frequencies: 305.5, 327.6, 348.9, 235.1, 352.6, 260.2, 319.7, 307.8, 317.5, 291.9, 338.35, all AM.

The attached image was snapped with a 200mm lens on my Nikon D300 yesterday while I was listening to the operation.

Damn cool pic! KC-135 and an E-3 Sentry AWACS

I heard traffic on 291.9 last night......around 8pm - 9pm. Also heard it Friday night as well.

I usually see & hear C-130's from Little Rock over Wynne (Cross Co. NE AR) just about every evening at that time.

My wife and I were standing and talking to some other folks last night at the ball game right at 8pm and I turned on my MilAir scanner and said he C-130's should be overhead soon, and within 15 minutes there were two headed westbound about 5 minutes apart.

A few folks looked at me and asked how I knew........some folks are easily amazed.

Hercs were late.....almost 10pm before I heard'em.

What town were you in when you took the refuel pic? What direction were they headed in ? What time of day was the pic taken ?

I live near Elkins. Aircraft heading was roughly 270. I see them several times a day. Thsi one was taken about 1100CDT.
