Default Ouachita County Sheriff's Office again

I have a customer that purchased a GRE PSR-600 and lives in Ouachita County. I did the programming for the scanner based upon the information here: Ouachita County, Arkansas (AR) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

The AWIN system is working fine for him for the State Police, but he is not getting anythiing from the Sheriff's office P25 frequency as listed in the database. Based on previous posts here suggesting that the Sheriff's might be also using the AWIN system, we programmed a wildcard into that. While he reports that he has picked up a couple of new talkgroups, nothing seems to be the County Sheriff's office.

Does anyone have any more recent information regarding frequecies or TGID's for the County Sheriff's office in Ouachita?

I have a TSYS set up for AWIN that locks out everything except a group wildcard and a private wildcard. There hasn't been anything new coming over our towers for about a week. That fairly well rules out a new AWIN talk group since Ouchita Co isn't even listed on AWIN.

I am wondering how far away the county's repeater is from your customer and what antenna he is using to monitor. That area is pretty flat down there and he should be hearing something at least.

The stock antenna on my Pro-197 isn't very good and an external antenna would have to be pretty broad banded to get both AWIN and 155 MHz P25. I am having great results with a 90° BNC elbow and the stock antenna off my Pro-97 portable. Hearing everything very well. But my range is still under 35 miles at best.

I am not complaining, though.

I heard that they do have AWIN radios. Could also use full time encryption? Who knows.

You might check all the Base frequencies (FX1, FB, and FB2) on the license. They may be using another frequency as primary.

I'm curious, have they purchased new radios lately? Could they be MotoTRBO digital? If so, they are not monitorable.
