AWIN Reception

In the past few months I have noticed that my AWIN reception has really tanked. Deadspots and low reception in places that used to have fairly good reception, even in the Little Rock area.

Any advise.

Running a BCD-396. Thanks

Are you using it as a mobile or base setup? and what kind of antenna?

As a mobile. Was using the Radio Shack antenna for 800 mhz but I broke the mast and now am using the duckie that came with the radio.

When I had my Pro-96 I used a mag mount antenna (800 mhz antenna for monitoring AWIN) with a bnc connector that plugged directly into the radio, after that it had EXCELLENT reception. I'm not familiar with the radio you are using so I dont know if that will work for your application but its just an idea...

I just bought a new Uniden BCD996XT. I hear all the traffic now on the Jonesboro tower. My Pro-197 can't hear that tower at all. And they are both on the same antenna.

I can't hear the Jonesboro Tower On My GRE PSR 500 Either like I Once Could.. I think they've downgraded their power on the jonesboro tower site to craighead county only.

I have noticed that I only hear the Jonesboro tower at night on the 996XT. The Pro-197 still hasn't heard anything at all from the Jonesboro tower and they're both on the same antenna..
