Default AWIN Primary/Secondary CC's

I was looking through the DB tonight and noticed the following:

Every Tower Listed With Frequencies But A Select Few Have Primary And Secondary Control Channels. However I Noticed That The Hopewell And Pocahontas Sites Only Have A Primary Control Channel Listed And Not A Secondary. Is That Because Those Sites Don't Have One Or That We Just Don't Know What It Is?
Is That Information Needed? How Do We Get It?
If I Can Help, Let Me Know.

Maybe someone can explain, What's the reason for both a primary and secondary CC?
And what's all the other frequencies that aren't CC's listed, Are they the channels that site uses?

The CC's listed for each tower are what has been confirmed using Pro96Com for that site, or another cc decoding software such as Universal Trunker. If you can run Pro96Com on a site that has not been fully studied, then you can submit the CC's and alt CC's for those sites.

OK here is a basic breakdown of how the various frequencies in a trunking site work. You have the primary CC. You have an alternate CC for times when a change is needed on the system at that site to iether fix a problem, diagnose a problem, or to fit changes to other sites. All freqs that are not active as a CC are open for use as one or all of the following... Voice, ID, Data... Say a site has just five freqs.... One is the primary CC, one is a VC (Voice Chan), and alt CC, one for CWID, and/or VC, and one for Data and/or VC...
Usually the freq that carries the CWID, is a dedicated chan for that only, unless the site gets busy, and then will use the ID freq for a VC also.

On larger sites on Motorola ASTRO-25 TRS's you can have up to four total CC's... One primary and three alts. Thus far in my experience and verified thus far using Pro96Com, smaller sites only use 2, mid sized sites 3, and the largest run 4. On older legacy systems, many times the CC's would rotate on an daily, or even 12 hour frequency. A few don't, but those are the exceptions. For example, City of Hot Springs TRS... An Motorola Legacy Type II Smartnet- It is a small "island" site but has 4 CC's and rotates through them on a regular (daily) basis... One larger system that only rotates CC's if a site has issues is the Entergy TRS. This is an Motorola Legacy Type II SmartZone... Some of its sites are small and run only 2 CC's, while some sites are huge and run 4.... But, unlike most of the SmartZones of the same age/flavor that rotate CC's regularly, this one does not.

Yes, I understand the rotation. The Jonesboro Analog System before they went to AWIN rotated their data channel *The Buzz* every 24 hours, Mtn. Home Police Dept. 800 MHZ Motorola System Do The Same Thing, Rotate in 24 hours. So I'm familiar with the rotation of frequencies part...Thanks for the breakdown though. I can hear the Lake City, Hopewell, Burdette, And Occasionally the Jonesboro Site when I'm around that way, If I come across anything I'll pass it along..
