Two things that will make a world of difference to you and your new scanner:

1. Purchase Win96 from Starrsoft ( PRO-96 Software - Win96 - Data Management Software for the RadioShack PRO-96 and PRO-2096 Digital Trunking Scanners ) This is a program that will be of great help to you in current and future programming.
2. Become a premium member here at RR. Besides all the wonderful perks you get for subscribing, you will also be able to use Win96 to directly download whatever frequencies you want from Radio Reference.

Trust me, these are WELL worth the money!!!

Happy Scanning!!!!!

If you get Win96, I can make a .p96 file of any AWIN stuff you want, and you can load it with a snap. Be sure you get the interface cable. I can also set up conventional stuff for your area and have you listening to everything there is to hear.

Win96 (or anything from starrsoft.com) is great software for scanners! Definitely pick that up even if it is just used to back up your scanner.
