Even if you can afford a digital radio that is capable of working on the AWIN system, you could not get it programmed and have access to the system unless you are with an organization that has access. And at that, the template that would be programmed into the radio would only cover certain authorized talkgroups for the organization.
For example, a radio programmed for a fire department would not have access to certain ASP, AHP, S/O channels, DOC channels, etc. It might have access to the common Med channels. Even an authorized user couldn't take in a list of all the talkgroups listed on this site and say they wanted all of those talkgroups programmed into the radio. Well, they could say it, but it wouldn't happen.
About the only common thing all of the AWIN radios have is the MAC channels. Beyond that, the programming is a matter of what organization owns the radio and what is that organization's level of authorized access to the system.
