I hope they didn't switch over to Next Edge. They're supposed too sometime soon.

They are in the process of going NexEDGE, They're half and half at this point.. All Patrol cars are on NexEDGE, Portables are still on analog, What you hear on VHF is handhelds only, Everything else is on NexEDGE and as soon as the kinks are worked out and NexEDGE is working properly they will be switching 100% to NexEDGE, In a week or two.. At that point no you will not hear Paragould PD AT ALL... Period... Along with Paragould Fire, Greene County SO, and Greene County Rescue... Arkansas Methodist EMS Will be going to it soon too...The only thing that will be monitorable in Greene County By Jan. 1 2013 will be the County Volunteer Fire Departments... Everything else will be on a non monitorable system..May as well get ready.. It's coming, I hate it, I've fought it, It's not right, But It's coming.. SOON

Brian, we have something going on here in Kennett. They just bid out a $12500 console for the PD that has VOIP. Why does a town of our size need VOIP? I hope it's not for encryption. They went to the city council meeting last week & said the console they have now will be unusable as of 1-1-2013 due to Narrow Banding.

NEXEDGE can be monitored with DSD - Digital Speech Decoder

Probably just a cheaper or better way to connect the console to the radios. It doesn't necessarily mean encryption or even digital radios. Ever hear of Air Evac Lifeteam? All of their base stations are on a VoIP network.

That won't work, It won't do it if it's encrypted and they are going to a UHF Nexedge LTR Trucking Full Encryption System, Police and Fire.. When I asked why it was encrypted the answer I got was so it couldn't be cracked and heard..

Default Paragould PD

Thought something might be going on! I to thought it maybe my end. I heard just a little traffic late last night. Havent heard alot out of Dunklin Co. in a few days, hope their not doing any changes!!! Wanted to know how everyone does their aimming their antenna, ie AWIN or a pacific area. I know it depends on which antenna being used. I been using the ST2 and think its very good! Im about 2 miles north of Rector so I can get Ar as well as MO. Sometimes in the early monring I pick up Tn. I have my antenna facing southeast.

Dunklin County seems to have switched the North & South End Repeaters over to Narrow Band.

Is it the same frequencies with different Pl's ZZ?
Paragould PD and Greene County Rescue are now full time NEXEDGE, Paragould Firebwill change Wednesday followed by Greene County Sheriff's department soon thereafter, SO will link theirs to the VHF and will still be monitor able however keep in mind they can break the link at any moment and silence all scanners, aside from SO all you'll hear is rural fire departments...

County Fire Personnel, Arkansas State Police Personnel, County Coroner, Housing Authority and Technical College Police Personal along with any other counties all still contact Paragould Via Conventioanal VHF, Normal Internal Operations Traffic Will Not Be Heard, They Kept Those merely for mutual aid and interoperability use..
