Interesting find:
Changes to Mtn. Home's conventional 800 MHz lic from contact, GPS data, tower type,... AND also now has the emissions designation for NXDN digital voice.

No telling how long it will take them to actually make the switch. For example, Batesville Police Department is licensed for NXDN, too, but they're still using (voice inversion) analog. Rumor has it that BPD got the digital license but they don't have the $$$ for the Kenwood radios. Still, it shows intent, at least.

Hiding in a coffee shop.
For that price, you can pick up a new Kenwood NX-900 mobile, or an NX-410 or NX-420 portable, programming software and cable and have cash left over.

That is of course it's all you want to listen to.

My thoughts exactly...heck, you could have a scanner for analog or P25 (statewide AWIN) system plus pick up a good condition NX radio to sit beside it.

That's kind of odd, They've been P25 for years but the rest of the county last year went to Motorola DMR, Kind of odd they'd go NXDN completely opposite of the county, But it's possible I suppose. I can find out, I have a friend on the FD up there.
