Anyone have a link or a way to get 10 codes, signal codes, and/or disposition codes used for an area? In particular, Fayetteville AR. I know as you listen you figure out most of the codes but it would be nice to have a listing for reference.

Thanks.

Gee, that's real tough. You go to Google, and enter the words 10-codes and police and APCO, and search. However, you'll really have to work them out yourself, anyway, since every department fools around with the codes, changing some.

Current intentions are that such codes are to be eliminated, since they often cause confusion between departments in interagency operations because of this.

Here are fayetteville's codes as best I know:

code 1: drugs
code 2: drunk

10-1 - could not copy transmission
10-15 - person in custody
10-19 - on my way
10-28 - DL check
10-29 - vehicle registration check
10-52 - no warrants
10-53 - warrants issued
10-54 - directed net (I think)

I know a few more but they're written down at home. Welcome to F-town and let me know if you have any questions about scanning NW Arkansas.

Eh, close enough for an amateur scannist, hehe

Any chance you can get us a more comprehensive list, or is something like that a little locked down?

Police and Fire Departments should do away with codes and signals. The Federal government recommends "plain language". It is better to communicate in plain language than in code. Talking in code would make it easier for someone not understand what is going on if two agencies are working on a mutual aid call together.

I've got most of the 10-codes but it's all the Signal and D codes they are using that I'd like to have.

It would be nice to go to plain language although I work for a transit company and we went from plain language to a 10-code system and it sure cleaned up the radio traffic and the amount of time drivers spend communicating their thoughts. It works for transit as we don't need to communicate with another system.
