Edit: After listening to the audio I would say they were inland, possibly passing west of us between NS and NB, they were talking about seeing the Confederation Bridge at one point, on the left side, so maybe they were outbound??
Here's the audio, plus some Guard Ops usual stuff going into Bangor, or Pease.
Audioboo / AR20 - 28-01-2013 - Brits
Also, I can confirm that the C-17 A to A freq in Darryl's list is active, and was the last transmission in this audio clip.

Well...that confirms what I was thinking. I picked up RAFAIR02 on PlanePlotter in that exact area. I have no idea how I was able to pick them up here but I also heard (portions) of the lobster roll conversation.

Lol..mmm..lobster rolls! I think that might have been one of the REACH flights actually, heading into Bangor would be my guess. I would guess those RAF birds went up the Bay of Fundy, so that might explain why you heard them too.

Ahh. Maybe the static here in the bat cave was coincidence then. ~8 months till house and as ridiculous an antenna as budget will allow!

Build your own man! It can be way cheaper, and lots of fun.
I just bought a pair of tripods today to give me room for the 2 new antenna's I built recently. One is a 7 foot dipole Below is the link to the guy with the tripods kijiji add, good price!
Galvanized 5 foot steel tripod mast parts DGA6230 - Halifax Electronics For Sale - Kijiji Halifax Canada.
I'm guessing the receiver is a REACH flight, I just heard one talking to Moncton.

I intend to build one. I just don't know a THING about em yet. Mind providing some advice when it's time? Also I really need a second mil air capable scanner. My PSR 500 had issues with the antenna connector once and that was enough. Don't wanna be unplugging and plugging every day..

My advice, start reading and planning now, there's a lot to learn. I can certainly help you out, but also don't be shy about visiting the Antenna forum here, there lots of helpful folks on here that can give you tons of good info, above and beyond what I know.

Well...JP4 weighs 6.84lbs/gallon. So...90K would be 13157.89 gallons. Current price of $2.048/Gallon equals $26,947.37. I beleive they would be classified as High-Rollers!

Do they use JP4? I keep hearing them say what sounds like JP8..or maybe they're saying JPA? Is there such thing as either of these ?
