Default Tusker334

I wondered if you guys saw that coming in. Earlier he was squawking '7700' and set off some alarms at Moncton Centre. They said they were having transponder issues. (I also had him showing as RESCU334).
Sorry for the backlighting: Ooops...wrong response ...with the wrong aircraft..sorry.

Yeah...sorry for the bad response. I happened to get an alert from Ian regarding this guy moments ago...when I went to the forum, I misread the message. Been so long I had to post something!

Unscheduled refueling going on right now.

Spotted em heading NE, looked like maybe an RC-135? Big black nose on a C-135 variant.

Very nice catch...SNOOP 55, Boeing RC-135V 64-14841 at FL270 with ETHYL55. By the time I heard the chatter he was overhead Halifax. I'll try and post some of the comms later.
As promised.. http://audioboo.fm/boos/1423890
Not much to listen to although now we know why they were so late.

Default Italian Air force tanker

Just a heads up...Italian Airforce 767 Tanker (MM62228)overhead CYQI at 1405Z heading north. They can be seen on Planefinder as IAM1423. The C130J (MM62175) is already near Halifax as IAM4676. There were reports yesterday of Tornadoes on their way to Maple Flag but I have no indication they are nearby. Solid overcast here so no pics.

Reach 795 on 311.000 too. Two planes in a short period. Hope its sunny to the SW! They're looking for air stairs too. Message is being relayed because they're at a different approach than normal.

What would need air stairs? Every USAF cargo plane I'm thinking of (C-130, C-17, C-5) exits at the ground, and I think the upper deck of a Galaxy has its own stairway onboard the plane.

Ahh I had expected a Reach flight to be a cargo specific plane. I guess that explains the air stairs request too then if they have pax. Can't imagine them wanting to go out the hatch.

Hmm...RCH795 is a KC-135R (63-8872) that also left Britain this morning. And no there is not sun to the South of you.Its pea-soup fog at this time. Hoping it clears for the possible RAMA flight this afternoon.

Awww crap that sucks. There is a session scheduled too so I'd expect Bones. I'm anxious (more than usual that is!) to see my next IFR from our house, I want to see if the reallllly visible KC/RC-135 tanking last week was a fluke or if they really were following the track. Hopefully they were on it cause it was a good view.

Oh yeah...I forgot you finally got outta the cave. Congrats again. Hopefully you are directly below the track. Will you be upgrading the radio equipment (ie: external antenna)?
