Checking mode s logs from earlier today saw tankers ETHYL 03,04 over NovaScotia 1705z
heading out then ETHYLS again Nova Scotia 2005z on way back.
Must have hit Rama 21 somewhere up there.Maybe different A/R track to Minot perhaps.

There be Gripens near by!
Just heard the support tanker RCH061calling in to Moncton Centre. 4 chicks (SwedeForceQ01/02) in tow. Not sure yet of the location.
Just picked up some A-A on 318.00
Sounds like they are located to my South...sorry

I was picking up some of that I think, still hearing traffic on what I thought was Foxtrot primary which is one of the conus or coronet freqs.. not sure which, I was just getting back to the desk. Might have been something else, will upload the audio in a few.

Here's the audio, I didn't make out the call sign, but it definatly wasnt the Swede's judging by the accents. I wish I was home a few minutes sooner, cause they mentioned using a track, which makes me think they used 20 since the audio was so good.
Would loved to have eyeballed them, it was a flight of 4 something cool's..

Wow!...That was them for sure. Your audio (it was 318.00 btw) is way clearer than mine, great catch!
Makes me wonder exactly where they were.
(There had been speculation that there was a Brit on rotation flying one of the Gripens.)

Should be RCH 051 around somewhere, with the other four Gripens.

Yea, your right, the last guy in the recording has a pretty thick accent. I'm thinking on 20, but who knows, maybe they had a designated track off the coast a bit. I seem to pick up things fairly well to the east of my place, out on the ocean..

AE0224 MOVER45 85-0032 KC10 USA - Air Force 2013/01/15 16:56:24
AE022A RCH114 86-0032 KC10 US - Air Force 2013/01/15 16:45:09
I have these 2 on the box, both KC 10s, within 10 mins of each other during the last refuel, would they be that close?

RCH 114 not connected. MOVER 45 has the Gripens in tow. Mode-s showing as Mover 45, but calling RCH 051.

Looks like you were right after all, I just saw REACH51 pass over with 2 Gripens in tow at least, not sure where the other 2 were. They said something about being back behind the lead 2, but I never saw them.
Here's the best I could do, they were off the AR20 track to the South and West a good ways, and I just caught them before they went behind the roof and trees:

Congrats Ian...great shot.
Most people would not have believed these aircraft transition overhead.
Now lets hope for some Dutch F16s!
I would love to have been in Bangor today.

Thanks guys, not the best shot I've taken, but considering how much time I had, it works.
Anyone catch any of the refuel last night? I watched it in the dark, was really cool, for some reason they had a huge RED light that was visible for miles, I've never seen that before. Maybe it was for training or something??

I did hear the refuel (RCH294 and ETHYL25)...didn't eyeball it though. I'll probably post the audio soon. I've seen some spectacular refuels in the past. Those low level ones can be quite something when they get those beacons going and all those engines are roaring by.
