NSW Police Zones 3-4

Since when did they start having a Zone 3 and Zone 4 on UHF????

Have always had Z3 (unencrypted digital) but I am not aware of Zone 4. What was the context it was used in?

Hmm ok thanks so zone-2 would be encrypted? A car crew called up asking for a channel for the taree area.

Zone 3 is now the new Regional NSW but used to be tactical channels which i think has moved to Zone 4 i could be wrong but from what i have seen it seems correct. at this stage Zone 3 is Clear P25 and is being rolled out progressively throughout the state

Plenty of Zone 3 in Southern NSW. Most of Channel Whiskey is done and i'd say a third to a half of channel Sierra is done.

I heard from one of my souces through wagga rns (police radio techs) that encryption is coming december 2012 for channel Wiskey

Encryption is now active as of 18/12/14 for channel wiskey

Hi all, Zone 3 is Clear UHF, Zone 4 is Encrypted UHF. All cars that went on the 18/12 on whiskey went from Z3 to Z4.
