Default 2014 Explorer Radio Troubles

Hi all,

I am having issues with my Sync equipped radio. In some menus I can't move up or down and in others I can. Happens with both the radio controls and the steering wheel controls. Can't seem to figure out why and I have updated the software and still nothing.

Really need help with this as I can't really change some things.

Thanks

Have you tried to remove the red battery lead off the battery for 1 hour under the hood then reconnect?Sometimes the radio's Microprocessor gets a glitch and all it takes is a simple reset. If this flops try re-adding the same firmware update, because something has gotten corupted. Did you try : On the SYNC screen, press the Menu button. Press the Down Arrow button until SYNC Settings displays on the screen. Press the Down Arrow button until Master Reset displays on the screen. After completing a master reset you will need to pair your phone to SYNC.

I've done the master reset and reboot sync. Apparently this isn't unheard of for 2014 Edge Explorer and Taurus

Default More Sync issues

We have 2 Ford products that have issues with the "pairing" of phones, and the dangerous part is that it pairs and works for a time and then no TX audio. I have had this happen to both my wife's 2013 Taurus and my 2015 Explorer PD. We did send the Taurus in for an update but the same problem re-occured within a month. I have given up on using the hands free since it is too dangerous to lose the TX audio and not know it.

It might be a problem with the phone itself. My after-market stereo locked up occasionally. It turned out the phones internal antenna stopped sending/receiving the blue tooth signal and it confused the stereo.

Kinda doubt 2 different brand phones with 2 different vehicles, both with SYNC.

It's nothing to do with the BT and everything about the controls because the Up/Down doesn't work in certain screens
