Thanks, I'm thinking about buying one of these. So I joined the group to see what others have to say.

Yes. After many sputters from the software developer on getting Import to work, it seems to work fine now. I haven't had a chance to use the radio much, but it, too, seems to work fine. Several annoyances have already been reported (e.g., the nasty sounding beep when you use the mic's Up or Down buttons).

If anything develops, I'll report here and on the Yahoo! group.

Any new info on these rigs?

Also I keep seeing a different UHF split listed for this model. Some indicate that's 400-490 and others show it up to 512.

Can anyone confirm the actual range? And by confirm I mean someone that has actually had the radio in front of them. Actually touched or played with it.

If you haven't yet, join the Yahoo! group.

Mine goes to 490, which is too bad, since just another 4 MHz would have let it operate on the 490 MHz expansion band here in Houston.

Thanks.

I will check into the group. I really need coverage(for now) up to 512.

My head hurts trying to compare all these different radios and none of them seem to list the same specs on what appears to be the same exact radios. And now Wouxun has this quad bander out....

Default wouxun kg uv950p quad band mobile radio.

i got one of these radios for christmas and have to say i am very happy with it. my only complaint is the uhf side only goes up to 479.995 which sucks is if i go to nyc and try to monitor some of the tac freqs that are on 485.000 and above i have to use my portable. but other then that everything else seems to fit the needs that i have.
