• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am trying to manually program my radio. I have done this before but cannot remember exactly how to type in both a transmit and receive freq. I can type in the recieve freq. but it automatically sets the transmit to the same freq....I need it to be different. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know I did this before and figured it out and it was simple but after two days searching the net I can't for the life of me figure it out again.

Thank you for the replies. I am getting it close, but no cigar. It seems the step (05, 10, 06.25, 12.5, 25) will not let me get to the exact freq. I need. My receive is XXX.535 and my transmit is XXX.0825. Any ideas?

Guess you'll need to find a radio that does 7.5KHz steps:)

Since I don't have one of these radios I can't help you more than finding a manual. My first thought is that you might be trying to set the frequency by rotating the knob. Me thinks that this would change it per the steps listed on the top of page 21. Did you try to use buttons to key in the freq? I don't think that you will get the split that you want with the preset steps.

I tried both ways. When you type in the freq. It automatically goes to the nearest step to what you type in.

Could you provide the exact frequencies for transmit and receive? When I try some sample frequencies in the Puxing software it changes the .0825 to .08125.
