I'd get a "Y" cable, plug the males plugs into SP1 and SP2, plug speaker into the remaining leg of the "Y".

will two esternal speakers work? I've seen some radios that have the same output, speakers split to allowq sound to be recognized as vhf or uhf without looking at the radio. Kenwood d700 is sort of like this.
