Sounds like they found him now? Any more details?

You must have decent elevation... You're getting the Staples copters pretty well.

Residents reported engine cutting out and then boom sound. It was a Kitfox Speedster, (high wing kitbuilt plane), landed on the dirt (Patrero Rd) road between Magic Mountain and the High School at Stevensens Ranch. Deputies found the pilot and passenger unhurt in the residential neighborhood.
Yup, I have a little bit of elevation, so all of the Santa Clarita Valley is no problem, some of the traffic in LA basin still clears the hills of the Newhall Pass.

Here's the FAA's preliminary data on the crash, "Aircraft prop separated and aircraft force landed." No injuries.

One of the few... I was surprised when I looked it up and about three other crashes in the area in just the last week or so popped up. I recall one was up in Los Padres or something? Amazing how often it happens. I was up on the Tejon Ranch once and they were telling me there's at least 100 crash sites on their land in the hills... And those are just the ones they know about.
