Default Martin Fire Again

There is another wild fire in the Santa Cruz mountains. Mandatory evacuations on Swanton Road just after 10 PM. This is the same area as last summer's Martin fire.

Sheriff is using the red repeater (154.950) as a tac frequency again. Some Cal-Fire activity on 151.370 and 154.325.

Local hams are active on 147.120 and 147.180 which is linked with a high level machine on 443.600 on Mt. Toro. Low power fire operations being reported on 154.400. This is not a local frequency; but mutual aid from Santa Clara county is in the area and uses this frequency.

County roads 151.100 dispatched to the area just after 11 PM.

A Los Angeles man was killed by drug dealers last week. They torched his abandoned truck in the same area. Fire fighters and deputies might find a body too...

Regarding the photo that shows the Fire Camp - Staging Area (below) and the fire up in the hilltops, at the structure that's 2/3 up the hill, is that the Lockheed/Martin Facility? Is Cal Fire utilizing Tac-9 on this incident?

The fire will burn for another 10 days - two weeks according to Cal-Fire. There should be more pictures and video clips at Home - Santa Cruz Sentinel Lots of articles about the fire too. You don't really want to waste your time reading the stupid comments of some posters attatched to the end of them...

The UHF repeater is usually a simulcast of 147.180. Weird that you can't hear a machine that is located on Mt Toro according to the ANARCC website. It's on the ham radio RR Live Audio feed any way...
