San Juan Capistrano: motorcyclist with a gun
San Juan Capistrano units were dispatched to a man with a gun call this morning at about 0845.
Units were advised that an off-duty Orange County Sherriff Deputy was passively (ie not pursuing) following a male motorcycle-rider whom he observed open-carrying a handgun on his waist. CHP units (two) located the motorcycle within a couple minutes on northbound I-5 near Camino Capistrano in the HOV lane. An OC Sheriff motor unit, who had apparently also been dispatched, initiated the stop and the motor-cycle rider pulled over in the center divide.
After a couple minutes the CHP unit gave an update that the suspect was "an employee of Station 18". It was unclear whether or not the suspect was an off-duty deputy of OC Sheriff Dept. The call was cleared after that updated.
