Fire has destroyed some building in Big Tujunga Canyon where some residents refused to evacuate....also some FFs being transported due to heat exhaustion.

Yeah, this one is unfortunately turning out to be quite bad. I knew when I saw the cloud this morning that it was getting worse. I had hoped they would be able to get it under control since the winds haven't been too bad. But last I heard it was up to Chilao to the north and almost to Wilson to the east. Each year they usually have at least a couple decent size spots go up there, but this is really going to do some damage. It's a real shame because it's such a nice area.

It's getting pretty close to Wilson... You can see flames on the cam now about one ridge over.

I think the news people are exaggerating a little. It could do damage, but it's not a sure thing. It came up to the first ridge to the west mid day. I'm not sure which direction it would come from now... maybe run around to the North. One thing that for sure did happen is that an ANF crew just went up to the Mill Creek station and residences and said it's a total loss. They sounded pretty disappointed. It's sad for me to hear so many spots I've gone to for years be burned down, so I can imagine how they feel.
