The water main dates back to 1914 and was slated for replacement. The truck looks like salvage for parts now.

Is that the one from Studio City the other night, or a different one? Must be a different one, because the news people would have been all over it.

There was a break of a 64" supply main off Ventura Blvd. Friday night... Ran for about 5 hours and flooded numerous stores and houses. They brought in the red cross and everything. Had all kinds of resources involved.

This is a different one. Two huge breaks within a week. The one this morning decided to swallow up engine 60.

The pipe that broke this morning was installed in the 60's...the one that busted Friday night was installed in 1914. The pipe that broke this morning was supposed to last 100 years...did not quite make it.

DMV now offering a "U-Boat Commander" endorsement for the Fire Class B driver license ?

ROFL.

That rig didn't look very old either.

Ouch.

I heard it is a 2 year old Pierce XT. I have also heard that their is now a shortage of ice cream in L.A. City 60's area.
