BCD396T and BC346XT Squelch

Both my scanners make a loud squelch noise after each dispatch, transmission, etc. I turn the squelch all the way up but cant get rid of it. It sounds like the squelch is all the way down. It only does it on analog conventional freqs, not ICIS or digital. Is that normal on the Unidens? because my 246 dosent do that. I turn the squelch past the hissing noise and every transmission is great. No half second hissing sound on the 246 or any of my PRO'S. It's really annoying ..... Thanks

I also live in LA and own a bcd396t. I have my squelch set to 4 and it is working perfectly. You might want to try that.

I have mine set at 2 and it works great everywhere that I have been.
