With all due respect, when a service no longer has a customer base or fails to obtain one, it often means the service is either obsolete, unnecessary or incompetent.

Additionally, you did not provide a link or any "positive" aspects of IPN. The only thing expressed was negativity which is not appealing. I know you're venting, but if you want to attract people, you gotta sell the product.

Thumbs up IPM Service

well here's the website :: IPN :: Nationwide Fire & Police Incident Notification well i was not trying to be negative about IPN but if we had more dispatcher here in calif we would not be missing so many incidents it seem's that we have more outside the state dispatcher using scanner feeds who are sending out calif incidents and sometimes the info they send out can be wrong at times so if we had more dispatcher or members in calif that would be better

Well, you convinced me!

I want nothing to do with this 'service'.

Smile IPN Dispatch Points

Well you get points to dispatch incidents out and points can very depending on the incidents they can be used for gift cards all the way up to digital scanners and if you can put out a min of 3 incident per week they give you service per month for free

Twitter has made these services largely irrelevant, especially since you have to get one of their pagers to receive info. with a monthly fee.

Twitter allows you to use any wireless appliance to receive, and is also near real-time.

Question to thread starter, What area of CA are you in? I know the LA area (LAX Chapter on IPN) gets covered very well, as I am a LA dispatcher..... Actively, I think we have around 10 ACTIVE constantly dispatchers... I agree about twitter being good as well. I use twitter and IPN, and usually get notified about everything.. I subscribe to the following on twitter:

Twitter.com/lacfd
Twitter.com/LAFD
Twitter.com/CAFirePage
