CHP Disposition Codes

I've been listening to CHP for a little while now and been trying to find our what their impound & arrest disposition codes are listed. A couple examples: seems like CHP officers often refer to "180" on accident type calls? I'm guessing this is an injury accident report? Also when an officer calls for a tow to impound I hear several dispo codes such as "impound for P-paul" or "G-george" from what I recall off the top of my head. Is there a list somewhere?

Oh yeah.. while I'm at it I recently heard a dispatch for a possible DUI (came over as 23152) however the dispatcher added details along the lines of "possible health & safety code violation, suspect driver seen smoking agent-S(?)" I've heard them simply say the guy is smoking MJ or whatever so just curious about these agent codes too. Thanks!

180 is the CHP tow form.

When they refer to something as P-Paul or G-George, etc. it's the specific tow sections as related to the 22651 section of the California vehicle code. P for an impound due to suspended license, G for driver transported to hospital, etc. etc.

A 180 is the form completed when towing a vehicle.

When you hear vehicle towed for P-Paul he is refering to the subsection of 22651 the vehicle code section that allows for the towing of vehicles. P-Paul is unlicensed driver. Some other common ones are B-Boy (vehicle blocking a roadway), C-Charlie (vehicle is reported stolen), G-George (driver incapacitated), H-Henry (driver arrested), and O-Ocean (registration expired over 6 months).

The Health and Safety Code is the Code where controlled substances laws are found. You will sometimes heard narco activity called out as simply H&S.

I've never heard of the term "agent" being used by CHP outside of Parole Agent.

I think what jrholm is saying is that H&S can sound like Agent S.

Say it with me "a-gent-S"

Now say H & S

CHP can talk pretty fast, especially since they rely very heavily on radio communications versus MDT like most major law enforcement agencies in California. CHP can be pretty verbose with all those vehicle codes, license information and warrant info.

Tee Hee. "Agent-S" is the best mondegreen I've heard in a while.

Though back in the day in Berkeley I remember "code-S" - slang for the 7-11 on College avenue. (The "S" was for "slurpee.")
