Default Making $$ and having fun on I 80

Been listening to the CHP Blue 42.34 since about 1000 this am. The airplane has been very busy around Clipper Gap, citing speeders west bound on I 80. Most in the 80 mph range with some in the low 90's.
The pilot got really excited a few ago with three motorcycles doing 139 MPH! Lots of motorcycle activity today with the returnees from the bash in Reno. I have heard many calls of motorcyclists down on 80, 50 and 88.
Norm.

Default Clipper Gap

I was wondering too, I found it is off I-80 at Exit 125 in Placer County spread across both sides of Interstate 80 about six miles east of Auburn.

Correct, between Bowman and Applegate. They mostly concentrate on WB traffic, but occationally monitor the EB flow from Dry Creek Rd onramp. HEAVY enforcement on Sundays, all year long.

I have totally lost count on the number of speed enforcement incidents goin on lately. Sometimes I'll pick them up on Blue, sometimes they're using low power on another channel. I can't think of any speeds called out below 82, unless there were other problems with the vehicle/driver.

I too noticed a high number of incidents regarding motorcycles yesterday. I made the comment here and was wondering what was going on. There was a call at Green Valley Road & Salmon Falls Road (that's in El Dorado County) of auto vs motorcycle, with the motorcycle under a vehicle. I heard CalStar dispatched to that incident. Then I also heard there was a pedestrian pinned under a vehicle at the same location. It sounded like a single incident with 2 victims.

Although they perform these enforcements day after day, sometimes in the same location for an entire week, there seems to never be a shortage of violators.

Darn, I missed Hot August Nights again? I miss drooling on those Chevy SS-396 and 427 Yenkos. The speed enforcement plane (Air-21) doesn't use 45.06 (Tac-6) anymore? They use to utilize that freq down to the ground units around the westbound Roseville-to-Weight Station (near Greenback Ave). The Applegate Corridor-westbound is infamous for collecting alot of fine revenues for the CHP's coffers.

was street vibrations in reno sponsored by your friendly red and white

although the plane has altitude - hes limited to 10 watts

the ground units are 100watt and have a decent antenna so you probably hear the ground units before the airplane
