Can anyone help?

It will be of no comfort to the family, but
if the daughter is an adult, unfortunately the CHP may not be allowed by law
(see 20012 CVC) to release much information about the crash to her parents.
On the Report Request info page,
CHP-Public Forms note that it says "If you are a Party of Interest, you can go to any CHP office and pay a nominal fee for a copy of the report." and "Normally, a party of interest is anyone who is the driver, passenger, property owner, vehicle owner, parent of minor, or legal guardian of an individual, when the collision occurred. If you have any question whether you are a party of interest, please contact your
local CHP office.
