Default The Admin at scannerbuff.net: Is This Guy Unreasonable?

I had a really awful experience when attempting to use his service (Live feed of various California agencies) I followed all of the directions including the verification process to certify the email address I provided was legitimate. Fair enough. However, for some reason, he apparently did not receive my verification response even though I clicked on the link provided in his email which went to his website and returned the message, 'verified!'

Today, my account was booted for not verifying my email address. I logged back on and was communicating with him regarding what the problem might be. He said he had sent three verification requests (I only received one which I responded to) and that I had failed to verify my email address. I explained that there might be a problem with the email address I provided (it's a proxy email address that gets forwarded to my actual isp email server) and could he send the verification request directly to my isp email address. He then terminated our communication stating that I refused to verify my email address! I was totally shocked. I had been nothing but reasonable in trying to sort out the problem, so I can't understand why the hostile response.

Subsequent attempts to log on were denied so I created another account to try and reach him once again to explain I was not trying to be difficult and merely wanted to resolve whatever problem was preventing me from complying with his directions. While I was preparing my message to text to him, he booted me from the server and BANNED my ip!

I just don't know why I'm being treated this way, as I was always courteous in my communication with him.

I would think it's best to walk away from that website. I wont say anything more about him.
You can read how he treats other people from his hosting company reviews.

the new company name he started using christian-hosting-solutions.com

MtnBiker2005,

Thanks for the links. Interesting reading to say the least. I'm steering well clear of this 'service'. At least I feel better knowing that I wasn't singled out for abuse!

Is there something on his feed that is not available on RR?

No, but the audio quality of the feed is outstanding. It's a shame that he just doesn't seem to be a very nice person, I'm sure there would be many people who would enjoy his site. C'est la vie.

They will soon charge for people to listen to their feeds. I too have had experiences in the past with this gentleman, and lets just say... I have heard dozens of times from other people he is on a "power trip".

Sigh.

Also whats interesting & illegal.. I hear LAFD incidents on the TS server at times!

Somebody didn't read the owners manuals that came with his scanners. There is definitely a law against using those police calls, for personal profit or gain. I hope this jerk gets busted...

It's already being done by someone else and nothing has happened to them.

I recommend just moving your stream over to here on Radioreference. My 2 cents. : )

is it a federal law,or is it local/state?.
i agree, news org's use feeds all the time,,just look at Every police pursuit that breaks into my fox-n-friends(kidding,i dont watch foxnfriends)

or how about 44minutes/North Hollywood bank heists by the -High Incident Bandits-
all types of air time on the local news..snd Yes,,commercials slipped into the broadcast to-Pay the Bills-

the Golden Rule,,stay out of the way of official biz,,the Silver Rule,STAY OUT OF THE WAY OF OFFICIAL BIZ !

the only issue i see is not streams for profit, rather compromising official investigations by providing
a for profit service thats being used by crooks to defeat-allude law enforcement.then were opening a whole other can o worms there..

Free Market Baby!!He Can charge for the streams,,that dose not mean we have to pay!

personal opinions and the law are two completely separate animals.
